Lotte Moos was born in Berlin and came to Britain as a refugee from the Nazis in 1933, with her late husband, the economist Siege Moos. She has lived in Oxford and Durham and for the past 26 years her home has been in Hackney. An earlier collection A Heart in Transit was published in 1992 by Approach Poets, this poem appears in Collected Poems published by The Rockingham Press at pounds 5.95.
