Adrian Henri was born in 1932 and is a freelance poet, painter and performer based in Liverpool. His most recent collections include Wish You Were Here (Cape, 1990) and The Wakefield Mysteries (Methuen, 1991). This poem appears in his new collection Not Fade Away: Poems 1989-1994 published by Bloodaxe at pounds 6.95.
