British frugal brides and grooms go abroad

An increasing number of British couples are heading overseas to get married after being discouraged by the cost of holding a wedding in the UK, says research.

The number of people holding their wedding ceremony abroad has risen by 15 per cent in the past year, a survey by Travelex suggested. The average cost of a British wedding has topped more than £18,500.
