Four men who raped and sexually assaulted a 37-year-old woman are being hunted by police. Two of the men committed the rape and the others seriously assaulted her in an ordeal lasting up to five hours.

The attack happened last Friday evening after the woman arranged to meet two men in Gloucester. When she got into their car, two other men were also in the vehicle.

The woman, who has two children, had expected to be taken to a nearby address, but was driven around for nearly an hour before being dragged into a house where the attack took place.

She told police the men were initially friendly, but their attitude changed when they arrived at the house. After the attack, the woman was dumped at the roadside in the Barnwood area of the city at about 11.30pm.

Detective Sergeant David Sellwood, of Gloucester CID, said: "This was a vicious and prolonged attack. She was extremely traumatised after the attack and we could not get her to speak to us for an interview for nearly a day afterwards.

"She was physically dragged and could not describe the premises or where it was aside from the fact it was a residential dwelling."

Three of her attackers were said to be in their 20s and one in his late teens. Two were black, one was white, the other was white or of mixed race.
