Aman and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant, died in a 22-vehicle motorway pile-up yesterday.

Twelve people were hurt in the crash, which happened as smoke from a bus which had caught fire obscured the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) south of the Bradbury interchange near Sedgefield, Co Durham. Police have named two of the three who died as Colin Boynton, 39, and his wife Ann, 37, of Haxby, North Yorkshire.
