UFF claims responsibility for firebombs

Police on both sides of the border issued fresh warnings to businessmen and shopkeepers to guard against firebomb attacks, after the discovery of devices in Belfast and Dublin. The Ulster Freedom Fighters claimed responsibility for planting the devices in Dublin, saying it was to warn the Irish government not to interfere in the affairs of the North.
