Virus closes holiday camp
A holiday camp has been closed for two weeks after 366 people, many of them elderly holidaymakers, were struck down by a mystery stomach virus. Health chiefs have ruled out food poisoning as the cause of the outbreak at the Pontins complex at Sand Bay, near Weston-super-Mare, but the centre has been closed while environmental health teams disinfect the buildings.
