Police launched a murder inquiry after a woman's body was discovered in a ditch beside the M25 by the junction with the M4 near Langley, Berkshire. The body was spotted by a passing motorist and police said it looked as if it 'had been lying there some time'.

Detectives believed that the woman - black and in her twenties or thirties - who had been strangled, had not been killed on the motorway. They said that she could have come from north London.
