60 killed in Afghan fighting
KABUL - At least 60 people have been killed in fresh fighting between rival Afghan mujahedin factions east of the capital, Reuter reports.
Kabul Radio said 60 fighters loyal to the Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hizb-e-Islami party had been killed by bombs dropped on the town of Sarobi by military jets under the control of the former defence minister, Ahmad Shah Masood. Hizb-e-Islami sources, however, said that the bombing had killed 40 to 50 civilians and wounded at least 70.
