Aideed move spurs hopes
(First Edition)
MOGADISHU - United Nations officials yesterday welcomed a Security Council resolution to call off the search for Mohamed Farah Aideed that had in effect already ended, AP reports.
Admiral Jonathan Howe, UN special envoy, said he hoped there would be reconciliation talks between UN officials and General Aideed's representatives.
'Now is the moment for all Somalis to work together for the peaceful recovery of their country,' Admiral Howe said.
