Aids scare for Polish women

Prosecutors are investigating a prankster who has been summoning women for HIV tests over the past two years, AP reports from Warsaw. The newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza said a number of women received official-looking letters saying they were likely to have Aids and should travel to Warsaw for tests. 'Presence of the HIV virus is a logical result of your sexual contacts with one of our patients, who has disclosed your address,' said the letter. Many women rushed to Warsaw to look vainly for the non-existent Aids centre.
