Aids test gets US go-ahead
Portland - The Washington biotechnology company Epitope Inc received government approval to sell the first saliva test for Aids. It had waited 31/2 years for Food and Drug Administration permission to sell its OraSure kit to test for HIV, the virus that causes Aids.
The kit is not intended for home use, however, and will be administered only by doctors and other health care workers. AP
