Arizona cop under investigation for 'illegally' entering woman’s home and handcuffing her – while she was naked

'I felt helpless, I felt violated, and honestly, I felt molested'

An Arizona woman was arrested after a police officer “illegally” barged into her home and placed her in handcuffs while she was naked.

Former police officer Doug Rose is under investigation by the Chandler Police Department after the incident was caught on camera.

Esmeralda Rossi said Mr Rose entered her home and cuffed her without explanation.

“I felt helpless, I felt violated, and honestly, I felt molested,” she told ABC15 Arizona.

The officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call about an alleged argument between Ms Rossi and her ex husband.

“I was in the shower. My daughter came to the shower and said there are two officers at the door. So I just grabbed a towel,” she told the station.

“It made me very uncomfortable. So I closed the door. I turn to go into my living room and I probably get about five steps in — and all of a sudden, I just hear boots running in after me, telling me 'stop or I’ll arrest you.'”

Mr Rose then handcuffed the woman and arrested her while she was struggling to keep her bath towel on.

Marc Victor, the family attorney, called the officer’s actions “disgusting” and “barbaric.”

Chandler Police internal investigators said that Mr Rose illegally entered the woman’s home and without probable cause — investigators also found that Mr Rose had no documentation of the arrest, the fact she was naked, and no video from his body camera.

David Selvidge, the other officer, contacted his supervisor to alert them of Mr Rose’s behavior. Mr Selvidge also filmed the incident, providing body camera footage to police and ABC, and was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Mr Rose has not been charged and has retired amid the ongoing investigation.

Ms Rossi was never charged with a crime and said she would be pursuing a lawsuit against the city.
