The Bolivian government is renouncing the UN's anti-drug convention because it classifies coca leaf as an illegal narcotic.
Bolivia's decision comes after President Evo Morales failed in his attempt to remove language obliging countries that have signed the convention to ban the chewing of coca leaves.
Bolivia says that coca leaf in its natural form is not a narcotic and is part of Andean culture.
