Dam construction threatens Venezuelan ruins

The impending construction of a dam in Venezuela threatens to destroy one of the most exciting archaeological sites in the region. Experts believe the valley could be concealing as-yet-undiscovered pre-colombian ruins, but a lack of political interest in the preservation of the site may mean it is destroyed before they have a chance to investigate.
