A former secret agent with one of the world's most feared secret services will run security at today's showbiz "wedding of the year".

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have hired Moshe Alon, who worked for Israeli security service Mossad and is a consultant for Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor, to protect their £500,000 bash.

More than 200 guests have been invited to the long-anticipated marriage of movie heart-throb Pitt, 36, and Friends star Aniston, 31, including Madonna, Bruce Willis and Sting.

But the bride's mother Nancy Aniston has been deliberately left off the list in a very public demonstration of the rift between mother and daughter.

Nancy, 60, has told how she fell out with Jennifer, 31, in 1996 when she made some comments on an American tabloid TV show about Jennifer's hair, among other things.

After the show was aired, she has said, her daughter phoned and screamed: "I will never forgive you".

A giant marquee has been erected at a beach-front mansion at Malibu, California, where the wedding is taking place.

Aniston's Friends co-stars are also expected to attend, and the evening will be capped with a £13,000 fireworks display.
