Former PM secures election victory in Jamaica

The opposition People's National Party secured a landslide election win after a campaign dominated by the economy, preliminary results showed.

The result means a return by the veteran PNP politician Portia Simpson Miller to the post of Prime Minister. The 66-year-old became an MP in 1976 and served as Jamaica's first female Prime Minister from 2006-7
