Russian government hacked into the White House computers, report says
US government thinks the attack is from same hackers who accessed State Department systems
The Russian government allegedly has hacked into the White House computer systems, gaining access to sensitive information about President Barack Obama, according to CNN.
US government officials believe the hackers are the same ones that breached State Department computer systems in October.
While the government claims that the Russians did not hack into any classified systems, they were able to gain access to sensitive information, including the private schedule of President Obama.
Officials say these cyber-attacks are among the most advanced ever to hit the US government and the FBI, Secret Service and other intelligence agencies are investigating the attacks.
The State Department hack came from computers around the world, a common move hackers use to cover their tracks, CNN reported. But investigators were able to find signs that point to the Russian government being behind the attack.
