Singer's presidential hopes dashed
Singer Wyclef Jean's bid for Haiti's presidency ended on Friday when election officials disqualified him.
"Though I disagree with the ruling, I respectfully accept the committee's final decision, and I urge my supporters to do the same," said Jean. The Haitian-American former Fugees frontman had faced a challenge to his candidacy in the 28 November elections because he has not lived in Haiti for the past five years as required.
