Rioter fired after storming US Capitol while wearing work name tag

The FBI has called for help identifying more of people who stormed the US Capitol

The consequences for the rioters who stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday have already begun, as two insurrectionists have already been fired from their jobs.

Navistar Direct Marketing issued a statement on Thursday saying it had fired an employee who was photographed walking through the US Capitol with a Trump flag who was openly wearing his work ID on his chest.

Another man, lawyer Paul Davis, was fired from his job at Goosehead Insurance after they learned he was livestreaming his activities during the incursion into the US Capitol.

In a statement from Navistar, the company said it had been "made aware that a man wearing a Navistar company badge was seen inside the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 during the security breach."

"After review of the photographic evidence the employee in question has been terminated for cause," the statement said.

The company said it respected free speech rights, but not criminal activity.

"While we support all employee’s right to peaceful, lawful exercise of free speech, any employee demonstrating dangerous conduct that endangers the health and safety of others will no longer have an employment opportunity with Navistar Direct Marketing," the company said.  

Trump supporters are not the only one's facing firing in the wake of the insurrection; top Democrats have called for the firing of both the House and Senate Sergeant-at-Arms as well as the DC Capitol police chief.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said he planned to fire the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms if he does not resign before Democrats take power in the Senate later this month.

The FBI has asked for assistance in identifying any individuals involved in the insurrection at the US Capitol.
