Yale University's rare-books library is now collecting Chipotle cups
Chipotle has a collection of cups with short stories and essays
Among the collections at the library of storied Yale University are some 25,000 volumes of Greco-Roman antiquity, many considered fundamental to Western thought.
Add paper cups from Chipotle to that collection of classics.
Yale’s rare-book library has accepted a complete set of Chipotle’s “Cultivating Thought” series, The Atlantic reported. The cups in the series feature miniature stories and essays from popular writers, including George Saunders and Toni Morrison.
Those cups now belong in the Beinecke Library, joining a collection of poetry printed on the side of pencils, postage stamps and bumper stickers.
“The Yale Collection of American Literature collects American Literature in all its formats and in all media, documenting the ways great American writers reach diverse and unusual audiences beyond standard book publishing,” the Yale library said in a statement.
