Toddler falls out of car trunk in China, driver does not notice

Dashcam footage has emerged showing a toddler falling out the boot of a van in China.

The video shows the boot of a silver van suddenly open causing a young boy to tumble onto the road.

The disorientated toddler proceeds to run along the road while his grandfather drives away – completely oblivious to what has happened.

The footage cuts to two minutes later with the grandfather reunited with the young boy.

The child’s grandfather, Yang Defu told local media: “I was waiting at the red light. After passing the intersection, a car chased after me and kept sounding the horn.”

“The driver told me a kid fell out of my van. I looked back, parked my van aside, and went back to search for my grandson.”

It has been reported the toddler climbed into the backseat and fell out of the boot because the vehicle had not been repaired after recently being involved in a rear-end collision.

The incident took place in city of Suzhou in east China's Jiangsu Province.
