Militant Umar Patek jailed for making Bali bombs

An Indonesian militant was convicted yesterday of helping to build the car bomb used in the deadly 2002 Bali nightclub attacks and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Umar Patek, a leading member of the al-Qa'ida-linked network Jemaah Islamiyah was found guilty of violating Indonesia's anti-terror law for his role in the 12 October 2002 attacks that killed 202 people. Three men have already been executed for their roles in the attack.
