The mother of north Devon teenager Scarlett Keeling who was raped and murdered on a beach in Goa said she wanted further forensic tests on her daughter's body when it is flown back to Britain next week.

The semi-naked body of Scarlett, 15, was found on the beach at Anjuna, Goa, on February 19.

Her mother Fiona MacKeown, 43, has said that she would be flying from Mumbai to Heathrow on Monday on the same flight as Scarlett's coffin.

Once Scarlett's body was back in Britain she would arrange her own forensic examination.

She said: "I am not happy with the forensics here. I want to know how many men raped her. I am pretty certain she was attacked by more than one person."

Ms MacKeown said she still wanted to bury her daughter on her land near Bideford in north Devon.

"It will take some time to organise the funeral, and find out whether there are any restrictions or not," she said.

Ms MacKeown said once her daughter is buried she wanted to return to Goa .

"I am going to come back here until this is finished," she said.

She did not know whether her visa would be stopped, adding: "I will do my best to get over here, or carry on the fight from England."
