Video: Women protest at 'rapist' cocktail in Mumbai
Wednesday 02 January 2013
A group of women from India's Nationalist Congress Party have launched a protest against a bar selling a cocktail called the 'rapist'.
The women vandalized the pub by tearing up menus and attacking a bar tender at the Bonobo bar in Mumbai where the drink is sold.
Members of the party are demanding that the police arrest the bar owners for reportedly publicising 'Balatkari' - the 'rapist' cocktail.
One of the protesters Vidya Chavan said: 'It is shameful to know that some people do not consider rape as a heinous crime and are using it in such a casual manner'.
The protest follows the brutal rape of a young woman on a bus in Delhi, the incident has led to widespread condemnation across India.
Six men have been arrested in connection with the attack.
