A woman's body located by Australian police at Cocoparra National Park is believed to be that of a 26-year-old teacher who went missing days before she was due to marry her partner of five years.

Stephanie Scott’s disappearance on Easter Sunday was followed by the arrest of a 24-year-old man on 9 April, who has since been charged with murder.

Police issued a statement on 10 April which read: "Police investigating the murder of 26-year-old Stephanie Scott have found a body in bushland north of Griffith.

"Around 5pm today (Friday 10 April), police searching the Cocoparra National Park discovered the body of a female.

"A crime scene has been set up at the location and forensic specialists are processing the scene."

As Scott’s loved ones gathered for a memorial picnic on Saturday 11 April, which would have been her wedding day, her sister Kim requested that attendees wore yellow in her memory.

Women across the country have also come up with a touching way to pay tribute to Scott.

The hashtag #StephanieScott trended in Australia, and a second, #PutYourDressOut, saw hundreds of women share images of their wedding dresses alongside messages of condolence.

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have been flooded with users sharing images of yellow clothing, balloons, ribbons and flowers.
