Thousands gathered in Queensland, Australia yesterday to watch the full solar eclipse.
Despite the high turnout of people, there was a worry that cloudy weather could obscure the phenomenon, however, at the last minute these fears were allayed when the clouds parted.
It is estimated that over 50,00 people came to Queensland for the eclipse, while partial eclipses were seen other regions and nearby countries such as New Zealand and Indonesia.
The next total solar eclipse is expected to take place in March 2015.
