Bee victim dies
Darwin (Reuter) - An Australian council worker who was stung more than 1,000 times by bees while pruning trees has died, a hospital spokeswoman said. Darren Prior, 25, was pruning trees from an aerial platform last Wednesday when he disturbed a hive.
Witnesses, who threw him into a swimming pool to help him, said he was covered in bees. An ambulance spokeswoman said Prior clinically died three times after the attack. The bees were aggressive because rain had stopped them gathering pollen.
