Central African poll

Voters in the Central African Republic flocked to the polls yesterday for a re-run of elections that collapsed in chaos at the first attempt last October, Reuter reports from Bangui. Six men and the first woman to fight an African presidential election are challenging the 12-year rule of Andre Kolingba, who was put in power after a coup deposed Jean-Bedel Bokassa.
