Cheaper vodka planned
Russia said it may cut excise duties on vodka, currently at 90 per cent, to help domestic distilleries cope with tough foreign competition and heavy taxes, Reuter reports from Moscow.
Stolichnaya, Russia's biggest vodka distillery, sent its staff on two weeks' unpaid leave, blaming a steep rise in excise duties in December.
