Conciliatory Horn

Budapest - Hungary's newly elected Prime Minister, Gyula Horn, said he wanted reconciliation with neighbouring countries which had ethnic Hungarian minorities, a frequent source of tension in the past.

'I wish to be the Prime Minister of 10.5 million Hungarians and pay attention to the situation of ethnic Hungarians living in neighbouring countries,' he said after being sworn in as head of a new left-liberal government. Reuter
