Diplomat killed
(First Edition)
Congo security forces shot dead Libya's ambassador before dawn yesterday when he drove through a roadblock, Congo Radio reported. Police fired on Mahmud Mohamed Saad's car as he drove past the private residence of President Pascal Lissouba, where road-blocks have been erected after a week of political violence, AP reports from Brazzaville.
His killing brings the death toll in Congo to six since violence erupted after disputed legislative elections on 6 June
