dollars 1.4m price on Escobar's head
BOGOTA (AFP) - The Colombian government has offered a dollars 1.4m ( pounds 729,000) reward for information leading to the recapture of Pablo Escobar, the fugitive drug lord. Newspapers were to publish a government advertisement with Escobar's photograph as well as telephone numbers for providing information on his whereabouts. 'We guarantee absolute confidentiality for those who offer information,' the advertisement reads.
Escobar escaped from the luxurious Envigado prison in July when the government tried to transfer move him to another jail because he was running his cocaine cartel from behind bars.
