Belarus poll date

Belarus will hold its first presidential election on 23 June, parliament decided yesterday, AP reports from Minsk. The country has been led by the chairman of parliament since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. It is one of the last former Soviet republics to introduce the post of president.
