Dublin expels Israeli diplomat
The Irish government has expelled an Israeli diplomat in protest at the use of forged passports in the assassination of a Hamas commander in Dubai in January.
Dubai has accused Israel of being behind the killing and named more than two dozen suspects. They used fake British, Irish, French, German and Australian passports. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied any role in the death.
Micheal Martin, the Irish Foreign Minister, said an investigation had shown the eight Irish passports used by suspects in the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh were forgeries.
