French strike ends
Embittered French fishermen licked their wounds and returned sullenly to sea yesterday, ending an angry strike in the belief they had lost their battle against cheap imported fish, Reuter reports from Rennes. Most fishermen in Brittany, France's biggest fishing region and heartland of the protest, took to the sea again in silence without the usual banter over trawler radios.
