Georgia calls for Western aid
Bread riots could break out in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, unless the West urgently helped the city and its refugees, the Economy Minister, Michael Djibuti, warned, Reuter reports from Tbilisi. 'I am appealing to Western nations for urgent help,' he said. Britain last night sent a plane containing pounds 118,000 of medical aid and blankets, and a doctor, to help refugees in Georgia.
