Germany shooting: Gunman opens fire in Bremen supermarket leaving one man seriously hurt
Officers say the suspect is currently on the run but say there is no immediate danger to the public
A man has been seriously injured after a gunman opened fire in a supermarket car park in the northern German city of Bremen, local police have said.
Officers said the suspect is currently on the run but they believe there was is immediate danger to the public.
"The background to this is not clear," said the police.
Witnesses described seeing two men having an argument outside the REWE supermarket in the northern district of before one drew a gun and fired four or five shots at the other.
The gunman then fled the scene.
The victim is believed to have been seriously injured in the shooting according to German tabloid Bild which spoke to his family who were in the store with him at the time.
His family were reportedly seen crying after the attack.
The motive for the attack is currently unclear.
