A forest fire on the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza has forced up to 1,200 people from their homes, many in an upmarket residential area.
An official from the environmental department of the Balearic Islands regional government said the blaze in the Santa Eulalia area on the east of the island broke out yesterday evening.
He said it is still burning today and not yet under control, although it is now advancing more slowly.
No injuries have been reported.
Some 150 firefighters and nine water-dumping planes or helicopters are battling the blaze.
The official said the cause of the fire is not yet known.
