Karadzic threatens to withdraw from peace talks
SARAJEVO (AP) - Radovan Karadzic, the leader of Bosnia's Serbs, threatened yesterday to withdraw his forces from an international peace conference in Geneva on Friday if the UN imposed an air exclusion zone over Bosnia. UN peace-keepers have begun monitoring Serbian forces' heavy weapons around Sarajevo, but fighting on the city's outskirts continued. The UN commander in Sarajevo emphasised that monitors were not authorised to silence the guns.
