The Kenyan conservationist Richard Leakey resigned as head of the country's wildlife service yesterday after accusations of corruption and serious mismanagement levelled against him by senior ministers, Reuter reports from Nairobi. 'The stress and pain of being vilified by senior politicians and others is more than I think is good for my health,' said Mr Leakey. He rejected the charges.
