Neo-Nazi jailbreak attempt
Austrian authorities laid on a helicopter to free a neo-Nazi leader from jail, after a blackmailer threatened to poison food on sale to the public, AFP reports from Vienna.
The attempt to free Gottfried Kussel, jailed for 10 years for Nazi activities and pro-Hitler propaganda, came in the form of a letter to the Interior Ministry, demanding that a helicopter be sent to allow him to escape. The ministry met the demands, but the blackmailer failed to turn up.
