Pole death
Norwegian scientists yesterday called off a trip to the South Pole to search for a tent left by explorer Roald Amundsen in 1911 after an expedition member was killed in an accident, Reuter reports from Oslo.
A Norwegian scientist, Jostein Helgestad, 36, fell down a 50-metre (160 ft) crack in the Antarctic icecap about 1,000km (625 miles) from the pole on Sunday.
