Police launch tear-gas attack on youths rioting over education in south-west France
More than 200 young people fought with police for several hours until 3am yesterday in central Bordeaux, setting fire to cars and pelting police with bottles and stones. Students were demanding more teachers, smaller classes and better conditions, but police said that other youths had joined in the protest.
