Russia's Information Minister resigns
Russia's Information Minister, Mikhail Fedotov, resigned yesterday, saying parliament was trying to take control of the media and he had no intention of becoming 'the gravedigger of press freedom'. But Mr Fedotov has himself been criticised for not doing enough to defend journalists from Mr Khasbulatov and his deputies.
