Savimbi's offer rejected
The Angolan government has rejected an unconditional ceasefire offer from the rebel leader Jonas Savimbi, saying he was paying lip-service to peace while stepping up his attack on the besieged city of Cuito, Reuter reports from Luanda. His Unita forces are said to be firing up to 60 shells an hour into the city.
