Russia's Agriculture Minister, Viktor Khlystun, poured cold water on forecasts for a record 1993 grain harvest, saying there could be heavy losses due to equipment shortages, Reuter reports from Moscow. He said farmers could not afford to buy harvesting machinery and trucks, but they were being more careful about using resources and trying to reduce waste.
