Firefighters die
Twenty-six firefighters, most of them teenage apprentices, died trapped in a ring of flames while fighting a brush fire in Patagonia, Reuter reports from Buenos Aires. Argentine officials said at least 17 of the dead were teen-agers training with the all-volunteer local fire brigade.
