Fundamentalists slaughter 31

Muslim fundamentalists killed 31 people in an attack on an Algerian village, Algerian security forces said.

The village, 30 miles south of Algiers, is the site of a zaouia - a religious centre of someone locally respected for piety and learning. Paris - Reuter
