Garbo's silk knickers left alone
New York - Monogrammed silk knickers worn by Greta Garbo (seen above with Fredric March in a scene from a 1935 production of Anna Karenina), offered by the estate of a former lover, Gilbert Roland, failed to sell at an auction of Hollywood costumes and memorabilia. The top bid of $6,500 (pounds 4,300) was far below a pre-sale estimate of $10,000 to $15,000. AP
